MINISTRIES

Brotherhood

     The mission and tasks are to teach missions, lead all men, young men, and boys to participate in mission activities; provide organization and leadership for special projects of the church, provide and interpret information regarding the work of the church and the denomination.
     The Brotherhood  meet each 2nd Wednesday night at 7PM and meet on the last Thursday at noon at Edinburgh Restaurant for fellowship and meeting.  All men are welcome to join.
 
 
 
 
 

Children and Youth

     The mission of the children and youth (C&Y) ministry is to prepare, teach and lead our children by discipling them through prayer, biblical truths, plan of salvation, baptism and a lifelong walk with God. Bible study, fun activities and trips (Ridgecrest, Centrikids, Fuge) and fellowship outings (bowling, skating, trampoline park) are utilized. Children and Youth are also taught the importance of missions and participate in community missions projects/activities.
Children and youth of the community are welcome to come on Wednesday night for fellowship meals at 5:45 and Bible/Mission Study at 6:30PM. Sunday mornings are always an open door.

GriefShare

     GriefShare is a 13 week grief recovery support program that one can go to after losing a love one to help cope with the pain of loss.  Everyone grieves differently and at different stages. This support group gives you coping skills to deal with your grief and at the same time you are among others who are going through the same thing. GriefShare is taught at different times of the year. Men’s Bible Study

     The mission of the Bible Study is to unite men in fellowship, ministry, bible study and prayer. The goal is that each member will have a stronger personal relationship with Jesus Christ and become more supportive of church family, promote mentoring and sharing the Gospel.  Men’s Bible Study is taught at different times of the year.

 Music & Hand-bells

     The mission and tasks of the church music program is to teach music and hymns;  provide music and musicians for the congregational singing; train persons to lead, sing, and play music; provide organization and leadership for special projects of the church; provide and interpret information regarding the work of the church and the denomination.
     Choir practice is every Wednesday night at 7:30 PM.

Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to provide God’s love and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ to children in need around the world through a shoebox loaded with toys, hygiene products, school supplies, other needs and Gospel filled literature. In November of each year, these shoeboxes are packed and shipped from our church. We collect items and cash donations all year to fill shoeboxes and we are also one of the collection sites for Hoke County.  The community is invited to donate to this great ministry through our church or call our church and information can be given to you on how you can get your church involved!  910-875-3508

Prayer Warriors

At First Baptist Church of Raeford, each Tuesday, an individual or couple comes to the church to pray. These individuals have intentionally made a point to set aside time to pray for family, their church, community, their nation and or the world.  Materials are in the Deacon’s room to use or he/she may bring their own.  To those who humble themselves and go to him on their knees, God will give them grace.

Safety and Security Team

The mission of the safety and security team is to maintain a safe and peaceful environment for all who attend church services and functioning. Our security team consist of both male and female, many are ex or retired military and all have their concealed carry gun permit.  Training takes place on a regular bases.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Our Sunday School Mission Statement is to reach, teach, and encourage the lost and to equip, teach, encourage believers in the Word.  Sunday School is the foundational strategy of our church for leading people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and for building on mission Christians through open Bible study groups that engage people in evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry and worship. First Baptist Church has class starting in the Nursery to Senior Adults including a class in Answers in Genesis.

ROUND-A-BOUTS

The mission of our Round-a-Bout ministry of First Baptist Church is to provide seniors with an opportunity and activities that will enable them to build a stronger relationship with God and promote Christian fellowship among each other.

WMU seeks to come alongside the church to accomplish the mission of God. God issued the mandate for us to be involved in missions through the Great Commission. Our desire is to see all ages energized and motivated and equipped for missions.

We carry out this mission by

At First Baptist Church, we have children/youth/and women groups that meet on either a weekly or monthly basis.
 

WORSHIP SERVICE

 
At First Baptist Church, we meet each Sunday morning at 11AM, Sunday evening at 6:00 PM and Wednesday at 5:45 PM for a fellowship meal followed by prayer meeting /Bible Study at 6:30 PM. Prayer, praise, preaching, instruction, and evangelism are the important ingredients of these services.
